qoute of the day
"A condom is the glass slipper for our generation. You slip one on when you meet a stranger. You dance all night, and then you throw it away. The condom, I mean, not the stranger."-Fight Club
Real life Eternal Sunshine

Scientific advances get more miraculous by the day, but this story from Wednesday's Telegraph is the craziest development I've read about in a while:
"Neurobiologists believe they will soon be able to target and then chemically remove painful memories and phobias from the mind without causing any harm to the brain."
Would you do it?
GUITAR HERO: WORLD TOUR
Director Brett Ratner got Alex Rodriguez, Michael Phelps, Tony Hawk and Kobe Bryant together for this Risky Business-style commercial.

What is Pepsi thinking?
Pepsi has announced that they are undergoing a drastic relaunching of their branding and packaging to bring "new life" to their flagship brands. The most dramatic element is a redesign of the Pepsi Globe logo, which for some reason is now supposed to represent a smile.

What are they thinking? Seriously, this is a big step backwards in my opinion. With the change to the classic Pepsi globle logo, it looks like a cheap knockoff brand. I don't get it, just how is this supposed to increase or even sustain sales in a dwindling economy? Your thoughts?

Proton - Fade Away
Proton are a quite tasty duo form Atlanta, Kamikazbi who has a slight reminiscent of a young Andre and Larry might be ones to watch. This is their first cut featuring Santogold. But although it's quite descent nothing compares to them on the Jessica Tonder track The Bee Remix.

Banksys Petting Zoo

Banksys says:
“New Yorkers don’t care about art, they care about pets. So I’m exhibiting them instead. I wanted to make art that questioned our relationship with animals and the ethics and sustainability of factory farming, but it ended up as chicken nuggets singing. I took all the money I made exploiting an animal in my last show and used it to fund a new show about the exploitation of animals. If its art and you can see it from the street, I guess it could still be considered street art.”

Everything seems to be fucked up these days, so I cannot think of a better time to watch, The Day After Tomorrow(THE ORIGINAL). This scared the shit out of me when I was younger…….propganda at its best. The best part of it all it was on primetime. stick with it, it’s pretty fucked up. Is this out on blu-ray?
ZERO dollar

So today on CNN they had live feed of artist Laura Gilbert and her creation of the "Zero Dollar," Laura Gilbert was passing out 10,000 fake "zero" dollars in front of the New York Stock Exchange today. The art piece is about "the destructive role of many financial institutions, and the decline of U.S. currency to the point of seeming worthlessness." What perfect timing!

celebrity product endorsements in Japanese commercials

Wednesday, October 1, 2008

AP photographer Mark Lennihan took this photograph of 13-year-old Jeremy Conroy selling apples in front of the New York Stock Exchange today. Apparently Conroy was "reenacting a scene of boys selling apples during the Great Depression." Like this one.
